Venice 2015
Ahh Venice the city of loveee, or was that Paris? I want it to be Venice because I fell in love with it and it was just the best romantic destination to celebrate the 1st year of our marriage. I am so glad that we ended up in Venice I couldn't think of anywhere else specially as we were both working and only could do a short visit. We flew out from Stanstead in May 2015 from Friday to Sunday so we flew to Venice and stayed at a very nice hotel called Hotel Villa Foscarini located in Mogliano Veneto it was in such a cute location with small shops, very nice pizza shop where we had the 1 meter long pizza. small cafes with the delicious cappuccino I have ever tasted! The hotel was I think about 4-5 stops via over head train to Venice the actual interesting place. Hopped off the train, out of the station and there it was! The views are indescribable. Have you seen the movie The Tourist? yes love that movie and I love Venice.
I think the boats were on strike or something because we literally walked from one end to the other. We took the ferry to the amazingly amazing islands Murano and Burano worth a visit. We did this the first day so we got off the plane got the taxi to the hotel left our bits there and headed out. We spend Friday visiting the Islands where I brought a few hand painted masks which is a must love them however I have not done anything with them its still waiting for me but its a nice little memory. Along with colourful pasta ohh i love my colours i never cooked them still in the packaging. Murano and Burano was just such a cute place we saw how the glass vase and jewellery were made. The weather was lovely during our visit. We attended a walking history tour which was very informative and gave us the chance to understand and see Venice in a whole different perspective. I prefer booking tours even though my husband hates them, because if we didn't attend these tours we wouldn't know why things are there, why and when.
We spent time chilling at a beautiful garden, cafes had pizzas and raviolis and pastas in beautiful restaurants, every restaurant is beautiful I mean the whole place is just gorgeous so where ever you go its going to be good! There's so much to see and do you'd never get bored. The gondola is just romantic all on its own. We went to the Magnum store where we designed our own icecream that was so cool back then it was the first time I had seen something like that :D
I really enjoyed visiting Venice and it would always stay as a beautiful memory, I wish to visit again in the future, but before that I want to visit other parts of Italy because I love anything and everything Italian.. Positano is next on my list ;)
